In
this months Riding Around section, I decided to dig out pictures
of a truck I took several years ago. The truck was ahead of its
time then and is still a cutting edge truck. The Pete 379 belongs
to Joël Bernier from Canada. The first thing you notice about
the truck whether you see it up close or from across the highway
is its stance. The truck just hugs the ground. As you walk up
to it, you can see that the headlights are bolted to the fenders
continuing the low look. Speaking of the fenders, if you look
close, you can see the ghost checkers painted on them. The Pete
has a bowtie drop visor, 6" straight pipes, seven roof lights
and rides on what looks like a 275" wheelbase. Its hooked
to a beautiful spread axle flatbed with tool boxes painted to
match the tractor and stainless quarter fenders.
