Under
normal circumstances, I wouldn't feature the same truck twice.
But since David & Allyson Geer's truck is almost completely
redone since last year, it definitely deserved not only a full
feature, but also a cover shot.
The
first thing you notice on the outside of the 98 379 Pete is the
new murals. They seem to flow beautifully across the entire tractor.
Then you'll notice the hood now has true louvers in it. Moving
to the trailer, the huge 150 gallon fuel tank hanging down will
really catch your attention. The basic specs of the truck are
the same. The Pete is powered by 550 Cat with a 13 speed trans
and rides on a 325" wheelbase. The changes that David has
made to the interior since last year really blew me away. The
Pete has an all hardwood floor in the tractor and sleeper. The
seats are literally bolted to the floor on chrome seat brackets.
The clutch pedal is a foot peg off of a Harley. The shifter was
cut down to 18" and it has a custom made billet steering
wheel. To make life on the road more comfortable, the bunk features
a 14" flat screen T.V., cd player, a home sound system with
16 speakers, a microwave, a refrigerator and a cb. David and Allyson's
truck definitely deserved a cover shot and I'm glad I had the
opportunity to shoot it.
