David
Marcotte from Momence, IL is the owner of this 1992 Peterbilt
379 and 1978 heil tanker. Being one of the few trucks pulling
a tanker trailer, competing regularly in National Shows, is one
of the many unique things about this truck. David's Pete rides
on a 250" wheelbase and is powered by a 3406 cat. His choice
for a trans is a 15 speed eaton. The exterior of the truck features
359 headlights, double J headlight and blinker bars, 7" wide
fuel tank bands, lighted deck plate and customized taillight bars.
Open the door and peek inside and you will see one of the most
unique interiors we've ever seen in a truck. The first thing you
will notice is the ceramic tile floor, then look up and you will
see the red dash panels. All of his toggle switches have jeweled
extensions. There is also a very cool SnapOn jewelry box sitting
on the floor. There are very nice Harley covers on his brake clutch
and fuel pedals. David has made sure he rides comfortably and
still has that cool low look by installing leather lowrider seats.
The 1978 heil tanker trailer was rebuilt in 1997 and is just as
impressive as the tractor. David has added some very tasteful
graphics to the side of the trailer. In keeping with the theme
of being different, he's installed a rear light bar in front of
the tandems on the trailer and a steering wheel to lower the landing
gear.
Finally, he has a ring of lights that outline the back of the
trailer. The beautiful red Pete and shiny trailer are used regularly
to haul inedible rendered animal fat throughout the Midwest and
southeast.
